“I-Phone Case Recall ”
NATIONWIDE (August 7, 2017) – Over a quarter of a million liquid glitter-filled I-phone cases had to be recalled because of skin irritation and chemical burns that occurred among consumers. The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) announced on Monday that certain types of models of the phone case would leak and cause health hazards.
According to CPSC, there have already been 24 reports worldwide of skin irritation and chemical burns, with 19 of the reports being in the United States. One of the reports was a permanent scar resulting from a chemical burn. Another report of a burn caused swelling to a victim’s leg, face, neck, chest, upper body, and hands.
A recall involved about 263,000 liquid glitter mobile phone cases that fit the Iphone 6, 6s, and Iphone7. The liquid glitter cases come in various styles and colors and are sold at Henri Bendel, MixBin, Nordstrom Rack, Tory Burch and Victoria’s Secret Stores throughout the nation. The cases are also sold online and cost $15 up to $65 and were sold from October 2015 through June 2017.
“Consumers should immediately stop using the recalled cases and contact MixBin Electronics for a full refund,” CPSC said in a statement.
