Costa Mesa Fire Department Captain Chris Coates reported that the multi-vehicle accident occurred around 10:00 a.m. The impact of the car accident trapped two people in the vehicles. Firefighters had to extricate the trapped victims.
Captain Coates states that six people were transported to a hospital with minor to moderate injuries. Two were taken to Orange County Global Medical Center, one to UC Irvine Medical Center, and three to Hoag Hospital.
