Around 4:40 am on Tuesday, a 31 year old man driving under the influence of alcohol was operating a Chevrolet Avalanche pickup truck at or near the intersection of South Chateau Fresno Avenue and Jensen Avenue. The drunk driver then veered into opposing lanes, striking a Honda Accord head-on.
The driver of the Honda, 59 year old Andres Mendoza of Kerman, was tragically pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the Chevrolet was arrested and identified as 31 year old Jose Antonio Montano. According to Facebook, Montano has previous charges of a DUI in 2007 and five charges for unlicensed driving.
