“Trailer vs. Vehicle Crash”
GASTON, OREGON (August 9, 2017) – 73-year-old Victor J. Accomando and 62-year-old Donna C. Accomando were involved in a collision with two tractors Wednesday evening, according to the Washington County sheriff’s office. (map)
The accident occurred at approximately 8:30 a.m. Victor and Donna Accomando were traveling northbound on Highway 47 near Main street in a 2006 Pontiac Solstice when it clipped a trailer behind the first tractor that was traveling southbound on Highway 47.
The impact caused the vehicle to be pulled into a second tractor which came to rest on top of the vehicle.
Emergency crews arrived on the scene and used extrication methods to free the two occupants from the vehicle. Victor and Donna Accomando were airlifted to Legacy Emanuel Hospital where hey were listed in critical condition.
No details were given as to any injures sustained by the drivers of the tractors. The drivers ages are 15 and 17 and hold valid licenses to handle farm equipment.
