JACKSONVILLE, FLORIDA (June 29, 2017) – A 74 year old man was tragically killed in a collision involving a bus early Thursday morning in Jacksonville, according to a local news source. (map)
The accident happened around 12:18 am at the intersection of Jefferson Street and Adams Street. 74 year old Alfonso Glover was traveling south on Jefferson Street, while a JTA transit bus was traveling west on Adams Street. The two entered the intersection at the same time and collided for an unknown reason.
Alfonso Glover was rushed to UF Health Jacksonville, where he tragically succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced dead. The driver of the bus was also taken to the hospital with injuries ranging from minor to moderate. The accident remains under investigation at this time, and initial reports indicate there were no passengers on board the bus at the time of the accident.
