The accident happened around 12:05 am on Monday, on Seminole Pratt Whiskey Road near 74th Street in Loxahatchee. A 21 year old driver that may have been under the influence was operating a 2016 Honda sedan when he rear ended a 1992 tan Buick sedan at a high rate of speed.

The driver of the Buick, 23 year old Jason Laux, was tragically pronounced dead at a hospital a short time later. Jason was identified as being the son of Ken Laux, a Palm Beach County sheriff’s deputy.

The man that hit Jason Laux fled the scene after the accident, but was located by PBSO officers including a K9 a short time later. He has been identified as 21 year old Jacob T. Gordon.
