JEFFERSON, WISCONSIN (August 8, 2017) – Two people were reportedly killed after an ultralight plane crashed in Jefferson on Tuesday evening, according to a local news source. (map)
The accident happened around 8:00 pm. An ultralight plane carrying two people took off from the Fort Atkinson Municipal Airport, then crashed into the Rock River a short time afterwards.
Both occupants were tragically pronounced dead in the accident. One was a 51 year old man from Edgerton, and the other was a 16 year old boy from Fort Atkinson. Their identities have not been released, but initial reports indicate the 16 year old may have been a student at Fort Atkinson high school. The investigation is ongoing at this time.
