The incident took place at approximately 6:15 p.m. The elderly couple that was living inside the home at the time of the accident were just about to sit down to eat dinner when the car pummeled through their garage which started a fire, according to Orange County Fire Authority Captain Larry Kunitz. The elderly man was outside of the home when the car crashed, and rushed inside the home to retrieve his wife.
The man was unhurt. The driver was pulled from vehicle and transported to a local hospital for treatment. The male driver’s condition remains unknown. Firefighters came to the scene of the crash and had to put out the fire blaze from outside the home. They were unable to enter the garage until a heavy rescue team could arrive and shore up the garage in order to prevent it from collapsing in on itself and the driver of the Tesla, Kurtz said
An investigation is ongoing to determine the cause of the accident.
“Police will gather evidence and conduct interviews with the drivers and witnesses to determine liability” said the attorneys from West Alliance Injury Lawyers. “Any injured party involved in an accident will have a bodily injury claim against the negligent driver who caused the accident.”
