MCKINNEY, Texas (December 31, 2016) –Three people have been killed in a mid air collision on Saturday evening near the Aero County Airport, according to a local news source. (map)
The accident happened around the 500 block of North Custer Road on Saturday evening, near the Aero County Airport. Two small planes collided in mid air, one crashing into a nearby storage facility and the other onto a road.
Three people have been confirmed killed as a result of the accident at this time. The Aero County Airport does not have an air traffic control tower, and requires pilots to confirm take offs and landings with each other via radio. The accident is already under investigation by the FAA.
