QUEENS: Three Injured after Roof Collapses at Construction Site on 28th Road

QUEENS, NEW YORK (June 21, 2017) – Three construction workers suffered serious injuries after an accident at a site on 28th Road on Tuesday afternoon, according to a local news source. (map)

The accident happened at 31-25 28th Road in Astoria, Queens. An upper portion of a house under construction collapsed, trapping three workers inside. One escaped on his own as fire crews arrived, and one was rescued quickly by responding emergency personal.

The third man was trapped for hours under a few thousand pounds of construction materials. He was extricated and rushed to a hospital in critical condition. The cause of the collapse is under investigation at this time.
