PORTLAND, TENNESSEE (August 29, 2017) – One of the two people killed in a small plane crash on Tuesday evening has been identified as 33 year old Raferal Johnson, according to a local news source. (map)
Raferal was a passenger on board a small plane that was reportedly returning to the Portland, TN Municipal Airport when it crashed just short of the runway for an unknown reason, striking a tree on the way down.
Raferal Johnson was rushed to a hospital in critical condition, but tragically succumbed to his injuries a short time later. The pilot, Harold Ray Mckissack was pronounced dead at the scene of the accident. FAA and the NTSB are both on scene to investigate the accident at this time.
