SANTA MARIA, CALIFORNIA (May 31, 2017) – 57-year-old Lyvelyn Ordas Reyes died in a DUI crash early Sunday morning, according to the Santa Maria Police Department. (map)
The Santa Maria PD responded to a call at approximately 12:14 a.m. to find two vehicles with extensive damage. Reyes, along with other victims of the accident, were transported to Marian Regional Medical Center where Reyes later succumbed to her injuries.
The names of the other victims have not yet been released. The driver of the other vehicle, identified as Sergio Chagolla-Chagolla, was arrested on suspicion of felony driving under the influence and vehicular manslaughter while intoxicated. It is unclear if Reyes was a driver or passenger in one of the vehicles.
