BAKERSFIELD, CALIFORNIA (December 31, 2016) – Altagracia Gutierrez and Miguel Irigoyen have been identified as the two victims killed in a car accident on Interstate 5 on Saturday, according to a local news source. (map)
Two cars crashed into each other on the southbound side of the 5 freeway near Highway 99, around 8:42 am. The two cars were then struck by a big rig, and over a dozen other vehicles then crashed into the involved cars.
Two people were confirmed to have been killed in the accident, and have been identified as 35 year old Altagracia Gutierrez, and 50 year old Miguel Irigoyen. Several others were injured, and authorities continue to investigate the accident that involved almost 20 vehicles to determine cause and liability.
