ALEXANDRIA, VIRGINIA (June 26, 2017) – A woman was hit by a car and killed on the Capital Beltway on Monday, according to a local news source. (map)

Around 5:00 am, a woman driving a Nissan Maxima was struck by a Chevrolet pickup truck in the left center lane of the Capital Beltway near Van Dorn Street. The woman exited her vehicle after the collision, and was struck by a passing Chevrolet Malibu.

The pedestrian was tragically pronounced dead as a result of the accident. The accident remains under investigation at this time to determine cause and liability.
