WASHINGTON DC (June 26, 2017) – An Amtrak train approaching a train station struck two CSX workers on Tuesday evening, according to a local news source. (map)

The accident happened around 11:18 pm near Union Station in Washington DC. Two CSX workers were struck by a train traveling from Boston to New York. The two employees were on the tracks for an unknown reason at the time of the collision.

Both workers were tragically killed in the accident. The investigation is ongoing to determine cause and liability, and the NTSB is on site at this time.
