WATERLOO, IOWA (August 2, 2017) – A child was killed in a car accident on Wednesday near First Street in Waterloo, according to a local news source. (map)
The accident happened around 6:30 pm on Wednesday evening, at the intersection of East First Street and Sycamore Street. A minivan carrying nine people was involved in a collision with a pickup truck for an unknown reason, and the impact caused the van to rollover several times.
All nine people inside the minivan were rushed to the hospital, where a child later succumbed to their injuries and died as a result. The driver of the pickup truck was also injured. The accident remains under open investigation at this time to determine cause and liability.
